Melancholia

Wearing: Unif Celize Bag Tee/ Ruby Sees All Leather Skirt/ Wittner Bayard Heels/ Ray Ban Mirrored Wayfarers

Melancholia: Dictionary meaning; gloomy forebodings.

Ive aptly named this post Melancholia as just because we (Southern Hemisphere) are in summer doesn't mean we have to wear bright summery colours. As seen by many designers such as Erdem, Comme Des Garçons and Louis Vuitton all opting for a dark, edgier, moody tones on the runway.

This suits me to a tee...surprise, surprise! I often see and hear so many people upgrading their wardrobes just because summer has hit and buying lots and lots of colourful outfits to go with that summery vibe, I'm not saying colourful is not fashionable and you shouldn't wear it, I'm just saying try something a bit different and opt for a darker edge this summer. It allows you to keep some of your winter staples and wear them throughout summer but with a cropped tee or singlet, allowing you to re use, recycle and still stay fashion forward.

All that Glitters is Gold

Wearing: Fluxus Basic Tee/ Hunt No More Pants/ Windsor Smith Gillie Heels/ Ray Ban Aviators/ Spell designs ring/ Lovisa skull ring/ CC Skye Chunky Weave Bracelet

Festive Season is here, and what better way to celebrate with a pair of glitter pants! I love black, you all know that, so im not going to go on in this post about how amazing a colour it is. These pants by Label Hunt No More are the perfect balance for me as it mixes in black with gold sequins, making it perfect for the party season! I can dress these pants up with heels or even wear them with a pair of converse white chucks a basic black/white racer back singlet and wear it casually.....perfect!! Works in my book as im ticking off all the boxes; black, get a lot of wear out of, can style the hell out of it and it looks and drapes anybody shape easily!

She's With Me

Wearing: Ethen Leather Blasted Cami/ MLM Borderline Pant/ ASOS heels

Thank lord the spring racing carnival is over! I ventured to Stakes day and Melbournes weather was not kind, gale force winds, 14 degrees and I think I flashed my underwear to half of the Birdcage! haha
Anyway life is kind of getting back to normaility and this is my first post for my collaboration with The Enabler, which is one of the best online stores going around.

MLM, Cameo, Finders Keepers, Ethen Leather and much more are all stocked on this great website, shipping is next day and the site is easy to browse making shopping a cinch! (Kinda good but also kinda bad, as I spend most of my paycheck in one hit, resulting in me eating baked beans for dinner!) Do yourself a favour and get online and check it out and also keep your eyes peeled for more of my work with The Enabler for outfit inspo heading into summer.

Wish Style Challenge Round 2

Round 2 of the Wish Style Challenge and look what I have chosen....another pretty maxi dress! Maybe this 'pretty/girlie' dressing I can do?!

I was humbled to be asked to take part again in this great competition styling a piece from the Castaway Collection. I chose the Diamond Maxi Dress as it embraced that boho, gypsy vibe and had the on trend geometric cut outs featured on the dress. Going into summer here in Oz, its the perfect addition as its simple, floaty and perfect to style anyway you like, giving you multiple looks within the same dress and will not break the bank....which is 'winning' in my book!

P.s. Just a little note that I thought you guys might like to know, shooting in the bush looks pretty and you get amazing shots but holy moly, nature, snakes and bugs got me freaking out and running out of the grass, looking like a total mad woman. Haha (glad it didnt show in the pics featured above!)

New Sensation

Photography: Nat Jane Photography

Hope everyone had a fun filled weekend, I have been shooting away furiously taking heaps of snaps for the spring season, my blog is going to be jam packed with new looks each week, definately excited to show you what I have put together.

I love home grown Melbourne label Kings of Carnaby, they are located in hipster Brunswick and super close to my home, so when I popped in a couple of weeks ago and saw Michael, who also happens to be one of the owners/designers he showed me the 'Leland dress'. Now, I am definately not a 'girly girl' so looking at it I was a little skeptical that it would fit my grungy vibe, but when I put it on, I felt instantaniously comfortable and loved how it felt and its gorgeous print. Needles to say I had to have it!

The rest of the Kings of Carnaby range is equally as amazing and there is heaps of leather, black and edgy rock looks which are clearly my favs to keep me happy for along time. Make sure you check them out online or pop in and see Michael for a styling sesh.

Whats Sup?

With everything that is going on at the moment i am terrible with the blog posts, I apologize whole- heartedly as things have been super crazy lately. I have so many new outfits and collaborations to post up so keep your eyes peeled as they will be up more frequently now that things are a little calmer and I say "calmer' loosely as the Spring Racing Carnival is next week! EEEK  ;)

Denim and leather are two of my ultimate favorite materials and I have teamed them up together yet again for this post. So easy to wear and pretty hard to get wrong so give it a go and check out Hello Parry's great range of affordable vegan leather alternatives.

Also if you are regularly reading my blog and you havent seen any new posts up, check my Instagram account as I always try and post my outfits and inspo pictures up daily  (@misslisao)

Hope you all have a wonderful week

Hello Sailor

Wearing: Junk Clothing Anchor Jumper/ Single White Female Georgia Leather Shorts/ Isabel Marant Bekket Hi Tops/ Le Specs Sunglasses

Leather, I cant get enough.....I know you have heard it all before, but listen up, its here to stay, I promise! Its always hard when you are an avid leather lover like myself to work out how to wear it through the warmer months, Sweaty skin and leather, to me, do not mix well and its uncomfortable to say the least.

Enter these babies...the Georgia Leather shorts from new breakthrough label Single White Female. These shorts are not only uber cute with the girly frill (I'm trying the girlier thing in small doses!) they are made from such a subtle leather that they are not heavy and/or sweat inducing (Phew!)

Single White Female is a Melbourne Based clothing label that launched this year. It caught my eye straight away as it has such broad appeal with its wearabilty and edgier designs. Its already started an un-healthy addiction. My new favorite home grown label!

Ps Sorry about my "trout pout" pic, having a laugh and not being too serious! haha

Distress

Wearing: Vintage Flannel Shirt/ Hello Parry Distressed Denim Skirt/ Wish Hooded Leather Jacket/ Tony Bianco Boots/ Ray Ban Aviators

Distressed denim is massive at the moment, from jeans, skirts, shorts and jackets. It fits in so well into my dirty grunge look that im building up an impressive collection of distressed clothing, my wardrobe is absolutely hating me!
This particular skirt is from a great online boutique called Hello Parry, it stocks so many great fashion forward items and the prices are so affordable, so its definitely worth checking out.

Ill be doing a little competition with Hello Parry in my next blog post which will give you all the opportunity to win an amazing piece from the collection, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled out and enter for your chance to win!
Till then hope you all have a fabulous week and fingers crossed I get some rest time as my life has been hectic lately (hence the slow uploading of posts- sorry a million times :)

Vintage Appeal

Wearing: Staple the Label Crystal Stripe Bomber/ Wheels and Dollbaby Leopard Dress/ Wittner Bayard Heel/ Ray Ban Aviators

Photos: Lydia Teh

Styling: Elaine Marshall/ Lisa Ondaatje

Part 2 From my shoot for Miishu boutique and I am in leopard, my favourite! For this look I went for a vintage vibe, returning to a 7/8th  figure hugging, retro number. Wheels and Dollbaby do incredible dresses that flatter every body shape and size from the curvy beauties to the not so curvy, but want curves type.....like me :)

Leopard and bomber Jackets are still here to stay and as we in the southern hemisphere transition from winter into spring I think its great to play with clashing prints and styles. If you regularly read my blog and follow me on insta you would see that I love a grungy, dark, always preferring black somewhere on me type of look, lol! I thought it would be nice to show you that I can occasionally dress up in 'prettier' outfits but still remain true to my style.

Make sure you look out for my post on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Sydney which I will be attending this weekend

Wearing: Maurie & Eve Anguish Tee and Misery Bomber/ One Teaspoon Mustang Baggies/ Wittner Leopard Topper Heels/ Karen Walker Helter Skelter Sunglasses

So I have been missing in action lately, sorry its been a hectic couple of weeks, so many exciting colabs and projects coming up that I cant wait to share with you all.

This is my shoot with a fabulous boutique called Miishu, its in Port Melbourne and stocks so many of my favourite labels making it the place for me to go when I need a wardrobe update or need to spoil myself, which is regularly!
I have an ongoing love affair with prints of any type so when I saw this fabulous matching bomber and tee from aussie label Maurie and Eve I couldn't resist putting it together for my latest shoot .
Don't be afraid to wear tops and blazers with matching prints or even clashing your prints as I have done with my leopard heels. Just make sure you don't go overboard! Try and keep some part of the outfit simple as I have done with the one teaspoon baggies.

Over All

Wearing: Topshop Overalls/ Windsor Smith Lilly Sandals/ Karen Walker 'Helter Skelter' sunglasses

Overalls, Dungarees, whatever you want to call them, they are on my top 5 favorite list. These beauties are from Topshop and a little bit vintage/boho-ish which I really like. There are heaps of denim variations out at the moment, but these pretty alternatives just caught my eye. Hope you all like them

You are a Friend Of Mine

Wearing; Jet by John Eshaya White Thow over/ Friend of Mine Leather Dress/ Sporstgirl Motocycle Boots/ Ray Ban Aviators

Yep, still on the black and white bandwagon, i've added leather though this time! Effortless, chic and very in season. There are so many ways you can wear leather and so many leather styles at the moment. My heart skipped beat when I saw this buttery soft Friend of Mine dress. I am going to wear this right through winter layering it with shirts (worn underneath with tights) and dressing it up with heels and a man style overcoat.
Make sure you check out the massive sale they have going on at the moment, you will not be disappointed!
